FAQ

Who are we?

Jupiter Cannabis is an age-restricted cannabis retailer located at Unit C, 580 Academy Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3N 0E3.

What does age-restricted mean?

In the province of Manitoba, you must be aged 19 years or older to enter an age-restricted cannabis retailers. While the legal age to buy or consume liquor in Manitoba is 18, you will need to be at least 19 years old to buy or consume cannabis.

You must also be aged 19 years or older to access this website or any other licensed cannabis retailer in Manitoba. If you are not aged 19 or older, you must leave this site immediately by clicking here.

When requested, you must show a valid driver’s license, Manitoba Identification Card, Secure Certificate of Indian Status or passport.

Alternatively, you must show two forms of valid government-issued identification, one of which must be photo identification. Examples include: Certificate of Indian Status, Certificate of Canadian Citizenship, Permanent Resident Card, Canadian Firearms License, and Canadian Forces Identification Card (National Defence).

Please be advised that when you place an order online to be shipped via Canada Post, delivered the same day by Pineapple Express, or you select in-store pickup (Click & Collect), you will be asked for photo ID.

The Canada Post letter carrier will ask for photo ID as will the Shopper’s Drug Mart team member. The Pineapple Express same day delivery driver will also ask for photo ID.  Jupiter team members will request photo ID for in-store pickups.

The name on the photo ID you provide must match the customer’s name on the Jupiter Cannabis order receipt and the address must match what the credit card company has on file.

You cannot order with your credit card and ship or deliver to someone else. As well, you cannot buy online for an in-store pickup and have someone else pickup your order even if they have your ID. The purchaser is the only person who can accept or pickup an order placed on our website.

Payment Options

We use a Canadian financial technology company to process our credit card and debit card transactions whose payment processing system fully integrates with Woo Commerce and our point of sale to provide an easy and secure solution for the cannabis sector that is fully compliant with government regulations.

Our company will appear as Jupiter Cannabis on your billing statement.

In-store we accept Cash, Debit, Visa, and Mastercard.

For online payments we accept Visa and Mastercard.

***We do not accept cheques, e-transfers, paypal, sezzle, barter, or crypto assets.***

Shipping

We are permitted to sell cannabis in Manitoba only; therefore, we will only ship orders using Canada Post within Manitoba.  Our shipping fee for Canada Post is $10.00.

Our same day delivery service has been paused for the time being.

We do not ship anything outside of Manitoba.

Even if you are an existing customer and resident of Manitoba, we cannot ship cannabis to you unless the destination address is within Manitoba.

All shipping is done from our age-restricted cannabis retail location (Unit C, 580 Academy Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba, R3N 0E3).

*Please do not order from the site if you are not in Manitoba. If an order is placed online, in-store pickup is selected, a request is made later or in the order notes to ship the order out of province (which is illegal for us as we are a licensed cannabis store), we will hold your order at our store for thirty days for you to pick up, and then destroy it if it is not picked up within 30 days. No refund will be provided for customers who do this. The credit card used to place the order and a piece of government issued ID with a picture will be required to pick up the order.*

*We reserve the right to not ship heavy liquid items such as 355ml or 591ml bottled drinks. We will refund your credit card for those items.*

Delivery Times

Jupiter Cannabis strives to ship all Canada Post orders within 1 business day.  We will reach out via email if there are any unforeseen challenges with your order.

Occasionally, we may have to order some items that were not in stock, but we will reach out via email to advise. Our online inventory is synced with our in-store point of sale, but once in a while there is a hiccup or two.

We are unable to guarantee delivery times by Canada Post.

Below are average delivery times that are to serve as a guideline only.

On average, Canada Post Expedited Parcels arrive in 1 day locally (Manitoba) and 1-3 days in within the rest of Manitoba.

Email is preferred for inquiries about orders; please use the email address associated with your order. We do not accept order inquiries via social media or our contact us form as there is no way to verify your identity.

Same Day Delivery Tracking

Same day delivery has been paused. We offer same day delivery using Pineapple Express (which is a secure courier service).  Their platform sends out updates throughout the process, so you always know the status of your order. There are two time slots available for delivery and rush orders may be placed.  The normal same day delivery service fee is $10.00 and the rush order is $15.00.  Please note the delivery cut off times listed in your cart before you check out for same day orders.

Canada Post Tracking

Our e-commerce platform (Woo Commerce) emails tracking numbers to you as soon as we purchase the shipping label for your order. You may track your shipment on the Canada Post website but tracking numbers will not provide relevant information until the shipment has been picked up by the carrier; the tracking number will typically work within 3-6 business day hours after you receive it.  We may pack your order at 11am, but it is not picked up until 3 pm; the tracking will work after the order is picked up and then scanned by Canada Post.

In-Store Pickup Notifications

When you place an order for in-store pickup, our platform will email and/or text you a notification when your order is ready for pickup. We strive to have all orders ready within one hour or less. We are only able to offer in-store pickup during the normal business hours listed in our schedule.

Please be patient and reach out to us if you do not receive a notification within 60 minutes.

How does my package look?

Jupiter uses normal brown shipping boxes that we purchase from Uline for Canada Post orders.  We print out white 4×6 Canada Post shipping labels.  No one will know what type of product is in your shipment as they blend right in. There are no references to cannabis or smoking accessories on your package.

A combination of envelopes and boxes are both used for Pineapple Express same day delivery orders. They are sealed and discrete and the delivery drivers are friendly and professional.

How is my order packed?

We have over 16 years of experience shipping fragile items (such as glass) all around the world. In order to ensure that your order arrives safely, our shipping team follows strict standard operating procedures that involve the strategic use of bubble wrap, shipping peanuts, tissue, and tape.

What if there is an item missing or damaged in my order?

If there is an item missing or damaged in your Canada Post order, please email us from the address you used to place your online order within one business day. There is a protocol listed further down that we will ask you to follow.  We are unable to acknowledge missing or damaged item reports submitted via social media or our contact us form as we are unable to verify your identity.

If there are issues with a same day delivery, please reach out to us using the email address that was used to place your order. If you do not receive a response within 60 minutes, please call the store. There is a protocol below for damaged smoking accessories.

Below is a protocol we follow for damaged smoking accessories from your order:

*Please do not throw away the box, bubble wrap, or any of the packaging inside the box as we recall the order by emailing you a Canada Post Label to have the order shipped back to us. This applies to smoking accessories only.*

-take 2 photos of the shipping box from different angles so we can see any damage.

-take 3 photos of each damaged item from different angles so we can clearly see the damage and ensure that you include your order’s packing slip in all photos.

-send one email from the address used to place the order that has all of the pictures attached, your order number, and all of the relevant information.

-in order for us to generate a damaged item report, you must submit your order’s packing slip along with the required photos.

Once we have received your packing slip and required photos, we will evaluate the damaged item report.

We will reach out to you during the evaluation process which is 1-2 business days.

We are able to mail out a replacement order within 3-5 business days after your damaged item report is approved.

We will issue a refund if we do not have an exact replacement on hand.

Returns, Refunds, and Exchanges

All sales of Cannabis and derived products are final as per the regulations of

The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act of Manitoba.

In the event that a cannabis or derived product are recalled by Health Canada, we will contact you with instructions on how to return the items to us. The recalled items must have the original packaging.

Due to the nature of the goods that we sell, we do not offer refunds, returns or exchanges on smoking accessories.  All sales on these products are final.

If there is an issue with your order, please send an email to the support address included in your electronic receipt; please add your order number in the subject line.

Please be advised that we do not respond to order inquiries via social media or the contact us form as we are unable to verify your identity.

Order Cancellations

There is a small window to cancel orders that closes before an order is shipped. If we receive a cancellation request before the order is shipped, we will do our best to cancel it and our platform will forward verification.  However, we may not be able to process your cancellation request before your order is packed up and your order will then be shipped; we will not offer a refund, redirect, or recall in this situation and respectfully request all of our awesome customers to defer placing an order if they are not 100% sure or are comparison shopping. We apologize in advance if we are unable to process your cancellation request.

Cancellation requests must be submitted from the email address associated with your order. Please include the order number in the subject line. We do not accept cancellations via social media or the contact us form.  We are unable to acknowledge cancellation requests submitted via social media or our contact us form as we are unable to verify your identity.

If you call the store to cancel an order, you will still have to email a cancellation request to us from the email address associated with your order.

Gift Cards

Gift Cards are not currently available.

The URL for the Gift Code with instructions on how to redeem the Gift Card are emailed after checkout and may then be forwarded to a recipient or used by the purchaser.

Gift Cards may only be used online and cannot be used in-store; however, in-store pickup (click and collect) may be chosen as an option at check-out.

When a click and collect order is picked up at the store, the customer who placed the order must pick it up and have Government Issued ID that matches the customer name associated with the order.  Click and Collect address is Unit C, 580 Academy Road.

The Gift Cards are not currently available through our online e-commerce platform – Woo Commerce.

We are only allowed to ship cannabis within Manitoba; therefore, the Canada Post shipping address has to be in Manitoba for snail mail. Delivery personnel will check ID to verify the recipient is over 19.

The same day delivery address must be in Winnipeg and the Pineapple Express delivery driver will check ID as well.

The name used at check-out must be the same person picking up at the store, receiving a day delivery, and receiving the Canada Post shipment.

As per Manitoba regulation, our Gift Cards do not have any additional processing fees and do not expire.  If a Gift Card code is lost we are able to resend it, but the purchaser of the Gift Card must send us an email from the email address associated with the initial Gift Card purchase.

Gift Cards cannot be redeemed for cash.

If a Gift Card is used and the order is shipped via Canada Post or Pineapple Express, all of our shipping rules for incorrect shipping addresses added at check-out et al apply. Please read them over at your convenience.

Vaporizer Warranties

Vaporizers are warrantied by the manufacturer and activating the warranty has become easy and user friendly. These companies have friendly and professional customer service teams that want you to be happy. The vaporizer manufacturer will accept the Jupiter receipt we emailed to you as your proof of purchase.

Product Appearance Variations

For smoking accessories, there are instances when items may look slightly different than pictured on the site. Please note that this is normal and at times beyond our control. Suppliers provide us with the pictures of the products that we post on our website. There are then slight alterations to the design of that product by the manufacturer that were unanticipated. There is then a delay until the proper photo is posted on our site. We may not even know the product design has changed until we receive the redesigned item.  For example, a frosted bowl handle might be slightly more pointed online, but the actual bowl may have a rounded handle and the rest of the bowl is identical. This is unforeseen and we will do our best to update the site, but there will be instances where there will be slight variations and we are unable to offer a refund, exchange, or credit.

Jupiter Cannabis strives to ensure the accuracy of its product images and information for cannabis products, however, some manufacturing changes related to packaging and product details may be pending update on our site. We recommend that you read warnings and instruction manuals of all products before use and not rely solely on the information provided by Jupiter Cannabis.

What if a customer accidentally enters in the wrong shipping address at check-out for Canada Post delivery or Pineapple Express Delivery?

Please be diligent at check-out and triple check the address you are having the order shipped or delivered to. There are certain potential scenarios that could prevent a refund and create additional charges for a customer.

TIP: If you are unsure of how to input your address, check a letter from your municipality or utility company to confirm the syntax of your address.

If you enter in the wrong address at check-out, contact us right away from the email address used to place the order with all of the specifics and a scanned image of your photo ID with the address.  The shipping address must match the photo ID and the information the credit card company has on file.

If we are able to change the shipping address before the package goes out, it is all good.

Emails to us requesting cancellation from email addresses not used to place the order will be ignored.

We are unable to acknowledge order cancellation requests submitted via social media or our contact us form as we are unable to verify your identity.

Note that we will do our best to alter the shipping address and/or intercept the package before it goes out, but there is no guarantee we will be able to fix this even if the email is sent to us before the order is shipped out.

If the order gets shipped out to the incorrect address provided at check-out, the package will most likely get sent back to us if the Canada Post carrier determines the address is not valid.

If the package is dropped off at the address provided at check-out, but it is not your residence, the receiver of the package usually does the right thing and the package gets returned to us; however, this does not always happen.

If the package gets sent back to us, we are billed by Canada Post for the amount it cost to ship it back to us; we get billed this amount automatically and have to pay this regardless.

There are now 3 scenarios:

1.) For Canada Post, the package gets sent back to us and we get billed the return shipping fees by Canada Post. We are required to follow the The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act of Manitoba; therefore, when cannabis products are returned to us we must add it back into our inventory and then destroy it using kitty litter. We are unable to re-ship your order or offer a refund. Unfortunately, you will have to place a new order and we will have to verify your address and photo ID before we ship. If there are smoking accessories in a returned order, we are allowed to re-ship them to you, but you will be required to reimburse us for the return shipping and then pay another $10.00 for the Canada Post delivery fee.

2.) With Pineapple Express, the driver will call you if there is an issue with your address. You will have to provide some form of address verification to the driver using photo ID and a utility bill or equivalent that has a matching address. If the order cannot be delivered and gets returned to us, we are required to follow The Liquor, Gaming and Cannabis Control Act of Manitoba; therefore, when cannabis products are returned to us we must add it back into our inventory and then destroy it using kitty litter. We are unable to re-ship your order or offer a refund.  Unfortunately, you will have to place a new order and we will verify your address and photo ID. If there are smoking accessories in a returned order, we are allowed to re-ship them to you, but you will be required to pay another $10.00 same day delivery fee for Pineapple Express. We will also have to verify your shipping address before we release the order.

3.) The item does not get returned to us because whomever accepted the package at the incorrect address (which was provided by the customer at check-out) decided not to contact Canada Post.

We will not issue a refund or credit as we fulfilled our obligations and shipped the order to the address provided at check-out.  Again, even if an email was potentially sent to us before the order was shipped and we were unable to process it on time, we will not issue a refund or credit.

All of you are awesome but being ultra-diligent at check-out when adding your shipping address is a mandatory requirement on our site. Yes, we all make mistakes, but we are a small family run business and cannot afford to write-off orders in these spots.

How do I learn more about cannabis products?

We will be adding some additional educational resources to the site, but in the interim please visit Know My Limits.

The Can & Can’t of Cannabis in Manitoba

In September 2018, the LGCA launched its first cannabis public education campaign. It educates adult Manitobans about cannabis laws, in Manitoba. As laws will differ between provinces, it’s important for adult Manitobans to understand what the rules are here at home.

1.    Buy legal.

The only place to purchase legal cannabis is from a licensed retailer. It is illegal to purchase cannabis anywhere that is not licensed by the LGCA.

2.    You must be 19+ years old.

If you purchase cannabis from a licensed retailer when it becomes legal, be prepared to show ID. While the legal age to buy or consume liquor in Manitoba is 18, you will need to be at least 19 years old to buy or consume cannabis. We encourage all Manitobans to carefully consider their decisions about cannabis, including decisions to use, how often and how much. Delaying use is an important strategy for avoiding long-term effects, which may include mental health problems, cannabis dependence, memory problems and respiratory problems.

3.    Not in Public.

The Smoking and Vapour Products Control Act promotes healthier communities by prohibiting smoking and vaping in public places. This includes streets and sidewalks, parks and beaches, school grounds, restaurants patios and decks, and grounds of health-care facilities, among other places. In Manitoba, you can only smoke or vape cannabis in a private residence (which includes backyards).

4.    You can’t grow cannabis.

In Manitoba, it is against the law to grow cannabis in your home. This approach is consistent with Manitoba’s commitment to protect children and youth, and is supported by law enforcement and responds directly to Manitoba’s concern that home grown cannabis may be sold illegally. The only place to buy legal cannabis is from a licensed retailer.

5.    30 grams.

Manitobans ages 19+ can have 30 grams of dried cannabis on them in public at any time. Carrying any amount of dried cannabis in excess of 30 grams is illegal.

Why can’t an item be added to my cart?

In Manitoba, there is a 30 grams rule. You may only purchase 30 grams of cannabis at one time from us in-store and online. Cannabis products have an associated value which reflects that product’s equivalent in dried cannabis.

For dried cannabis or a pre-roll, the equivalent weight in dried cannabis is straight forward. A 1 gram pre-roll has an equivalent weight of 1 gram and 1 gram package of cannabis has an equivalent weight of 1 gram.

When you add items to your online cart on our website or buy items in-store, our website cart or point of sale add up the total equivalent cannabis weight of your purchase.  For example, you may purchase up to thirty 1 gram pre-rolls or thirty grams of cannabis, but you cannot buy more during that transaction.

Our website cart has a scale that you can see in the top right-hand corner that tracks your cannabis purchase in grams. When you go over 30 grams, the following message appears:

This item cannot be added to your cart. The legal limit of cannabis that may be purchased at one time is 30 grams.

In-store, our point of sale keeps track of the equivalent cannabis weight of your purchases. The sales associate assisting you will politely advise you on the recommended way to proceed if you are over the legal limit of 30 grams.

There are other items such as oils, bath bombs, or vape cartridges that are not so straight forward. For example, a bottle of THC oil that has 30 ml of fluid may have an equivalency of 0.4 gram of dried cannabis. You may purchase 75 bottles of this THC oil to reach a cannabis weight equivalency of 30 grams.

A bath bomb has a dry weight of 150 grams, 100 mg of THC, 100 mg of CBD, but it has a dried cannabis equivalency of 10 grams; therefore, you could only buy 3 bath bombs as this would be equivalent to 30 grams of cannabis.

Finally, a vape cartridge has a weight of 0.5 gram, but has a dried cannabis equivalency of 2 grams which allows you to buy 15 of them.

If you are over the 30 grams limit, be strategic with your purchase and focus on the products you would like to utilize first and come back another day to purchase those items you want to use later.

Do you sell seeds?

No.

One cannot grow cannabis in Manitoba and licensed cannabis retailers cannot sell cannabis seeds.

We do not warrant that the results that may be obtained from the use of the service will be accurate or reliable.

You agree that from time to time we may remove the service for indefinite periods of time or cancel the service at any time, without notice to you.

You expressly agree that your use of, or inability to use, the service is at your sole risk. The service and all products and services delivered to you through the service are (except as expressly stated by us) provided ‘as is’ and ‘as available’ for your use, without any representation, warranties or conditions of any kind, either express or implied, including all implied warranties or conditions of merchantability, merchantable quality, fitness for a particular purpose, durability, title, and non-infringement.

In no case shall Jupiter Cannabis, our directors, officers, employees, affiliates, agents, contractors, interns, suppliers, service providers or licensors be liable for any injury, loss, claim, or any direct, indirect, incidental, punitive, special, or consequential damages of any kind, including, without limitation lost profits, lost revenue, lost savings, loss of data, replacement costs, or any similar damages, whether based in contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability or otherwise, arising from your use of any of the service or any products procured using the service, or for any other claim related in any way to your use of the service or any product, including, but not limited to, any errors or omissions in any content, or any loss or damage of any kind incurred as a result of the use of the service or any content (or product) posted, transmitted, or otherwise made available via the service, even if advised of their possibility. Because some states or jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or the limitation of liability for consequential or incidental damages, in such states or jurisdictions, our liability shall be limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

SECTION 14 – INDEMNIFICATION

You agree to indemnify, defend and hold harmless Jupiter Cannabis and our parent, subsidiaries, affiliates, partners, officers, directors, agents, contractors, licensors, service providers, subcontractors, suppliers, interns and employees, harmless from any claim or demand, including reasonable attorneys’ fees, made by any third-party due to or arising out of your breach of these Terms of Service or the documents they incorporate by reference or your violation of any law or the rights of a third-party.

SECTION 15 – SEVERABILITY

In the event that any provision of these Terms of Service is determined to be unlawful, void or unenforceable, such provision shall nonetheless be enforceable to the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, and the unenforceable portion shall be deemed to be severed from these Terms of Service, such determination shall not affect the validity and enforceability of any other remaining provisions.

SECTION 16 – TERMINATION

The obligations and liabilities of the parties incurred prior to the termination date shall survive the termination of this agreement for all purposes.

These Terms of Service are effective unless and until terminated by either you or us. You may terminate these Terms of Service at any time by notifying us that you no longer wish to use our Services, or when you cease using our site.

If in our sole judgment you fail, or we suspect that you have failed, to comply with any term or provision of these Terms of Service, we also may terminate this agreement at any time without notice and you will remain liable for all amounts due up to and including the date of termination; and/or accordingly may deny you access to our Services (or any part thereof).

SECTION 17 – ENTIRE AGREEMENT

The failure of us to exercise or enforce any right or provision of these Terms of Service shall not constitute a waiver of such right or provision.

These Terms of Service and any policies or operating rules posted by us on this site or in respect to The Service constitutes the entire agreement and understanding between you and us and govern your use of the Service, superseding any prior or contemporaneous agreements, communications and proposals, whether oral or written, between you and us (including, but not limited to, any prior versions of the Terms of Service).

Any ambiguities in the interpretation of these Terms of Service shall not be construed against the drafting party.

SECTION 18 – GOVERNING LAW

These Terms of Service and any separate agreements whereby we provide you Services shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Canada.
